Hokies defeat Monarchs

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Another Tech win for the wrestling Hokies, but today was also special day for seniors.

The team took the time to recognize the careers of seniors prior to the start of the match. It is always a bittersweet moment for recognizing accomplishments, but also the end of a journey.

The action against No. 25 Old Dominion began with Devin Carter, a New River Valley native, literally taking down Eric Dunnet in a 27-12 technical fall.

With wins from:

-       Zach Neibert, Pete Yates, Chris Penny, and Erik Spjut

-       The final score ended up 22-12

This puts Tech at 7-4 overall and ODU falls to 11-8

Virginia Tech Coach, Kevin Dresser, is happy with how the team did today, and says they have a little break before National Duals and the rest of the season.
